Connection
As you get started, catch up on how y’all are doing since you last met. Celebrate how God has been at work in your lives.
This lesson walks through God’s design for the church and how to become part of a local church.
Vision
You were not meant to follow Jesus alone. God has given you a family in the church: people to encourage you, walk with you and serve alongside you. Joining a local church is how you say yes to that family.
God’s Design For Community
Hebrews 10:24-25 "Let us consider how we may one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another."
Ephesians 2:19 "You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow with God’s people and also members of His ."
The Church is the Body of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:27 "Now you are the of Christ, and each one of you is a of it."
Romans 12:5
"In Christ we, though many, form one , and each member belongs to all the others.”
We each have a part to play in the church. Church membership is not about attending a building—it’s about belonging, growing, and serving in God’s family.
Why Membership Matters
- It reflects your commitment to spiritual growth
- It gives you a place to be encouraged and held accountable
- It opens the door to use your gifts to serve others
- It places you under spiritual leadership and care
