Introduction:

This lesson will help you understand the deliverance that Jesus brings in our lives. 

From Darkness to Light:

God has rescued you from darkness and brought you into His kingdom. This transfer of kingdoms is central to understanding deliverance.

Colossians 1:13-14 "For he has _______________ us from the dominion of _______________ and brought us into the kingdom of the _______________ he loves, in whom we have _______________, the forgiveness of sins."

Understanding Our Deliverance in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new _______________ has come: The old has _______________, the new is here!"

In Christ, you are a new creation with a new identity. You are no longer defined by your past, your sins, or your struggles. You are defined by who you are in Christ..

Walking in Deliverance

James 4:7-8 "_______________ yourselves, then, to God. _______________ the devil, and he will _______________ from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you."

This powerful verse gives us the two-fold strategy for walking in deliverance:

1. Submit to God - place yourself completely under His authority

2. Resist the devil - take a firm stand against him

When we do these two things in this order, the enemy must flee. This is God's promise to us.

Deliverance Prayer:

Take time now to pray this prayer of deliverance, submitting yourself fully to God and resisting and renouncing all darkness:

Lord, I repent to you that I’ve partaken in sin. I repent of all generational curses that belonged to my former life, all the ways I’ve participated in spiritual practices that weren’t the Holy Spirit, all bitterness and unforgiveness I’ve harbored, and all uses of my body for sin. I stand before you, O Lord, seeking the cleansing of my soul and the renewal of my life. 

I renounce all spirits associated with my former life, all agreements and influences these have had on my life, and I forgive all who have wronged me. 

After you are finished, have someone pray over you, commanding any evil spirits from your old life to leave your life. 

Once you have received prayer, have them also pray for you to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
