Look Up // Lesson 3:

Devoted to Worship

Introduction:

As you get started, catch up on how y’all are doing since you last met. Celebrate how God has been at work in your lives. Ask how have the 40 Days of Devotion gone so far. Share something meaningful from your times with the Lord.

Biblical Foundations:

A second building block in a lifestyle of devotion and friendship with Jesus is a heart of worship. All throughout the Scriptures, but especially in the Psalms, we see worshipping the Lord as a priority and a privilege in the lives of God’s people:

Psalm 29:2 Ascribe to the LORD the ____________ due his name; ________ the LORD in the ____________ of his holiness.

Psalm 95:6-7 Come, let us ____________ down in _________, let us ____________ before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock ___________.

Psalm 100:4-5 Enter his gates with ____________ and his courts with ____________; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is _________ and his ________ endures forever; his _________ continues through all generations.

Questions for Discussion: When have you experienced a particularly meaningful time of worship? What made it so significant? What have you noticed as you worshiped in your devotional times so far?

Modeling:

For the Leader: Share your own experience with worship. Describe how you approach worship, what methods you've found helpful, and how worship has impacted your life.

Together: Pick a simple way to worship together. If you are not sure where to start, write a letter of gratitude to God

Practice:

We want to develop hearts that respond to God in genuine worship. As part of the 40 Days of Devotion, you'll be guided through practices that incorporate worship into your daily devotional life.
