Look In // Lesson 5:

Restore

Introduction:

As you get started, catch up on how y’all are doing since you last met. Celebrate how God has been at work in your lives. Using the Galatians 5 passage, take time to practice confession and repentance of sin. How did it go in uprooting these areas from your lives?

Biblical Foundations:

God's work of transformation ultimately leads to restoration—walking in the holiness we were created for and loving others like Jesus.

1 Peter 1.14 As __________________, do not _____________ to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so ___________________; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

1 John 2.3 We know that we have come to know him if we ____________________. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, _______________ is truly made _____________ in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must ________________.

1 John 4.7 Dear friends, let us __________________, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought _______________________. 12 No one has ever seen God; ______________________, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
