Look Out // Lesson 3:
Sharing the Gospel with Confidence
Introduction:
As you get started, catch up on how y’all are doing since you last met. Celebrate how God has been at work in your lives. How did it go praying for those in your sphere of influence?
Biblical Foundations:
God has given us all a mission to be His witness and ambassadors. He has given each of us different spheres of influence where we live out that calling.
The gospel message has power in itself. Our responsibility is to share it clearly and confidently, trusting God for the results.
Romans 1:16 "For I am not ___________ of the gospel, because it is the ___________ of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile."
1 Corinthians 15:3-5 "For what I received I passed on to you as of ___________ importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve."
Acts 4:29-31 "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great ___________. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus. After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God ___________."
Questions for Discussion: Why do you think Paul said he was "not ashamed" of the gospel? What gives you confidence in sharing the gospel message? What aspects of sharing your faith feel most challenging?
Modeling:
For the Leader: Model sharing the gospel in a clear, conversational way. Show how you would share the core message in about 3-5 minutes. Then explain why you chose to emphasize certain aspects and how you try to contextualize the message for different audiences while keeping the core truth intact.
Use the Steps to Peace With God Tract and the Two Minute Testimony Worksheet to model sharing the Gospel and sharing your testimony.
Go out together and pray for people, and share the Gospel. A good rule of thumb is for you and the person you are discipling to each share at least three times with people.

Practice:
This week make it a goal to share with three people. This might come through praying for them, sharing your testimony or sharing the Gospel.
Remember: Success in evangelism is faithfully sharing the message and leaving the results to God. Our job is to plant and water seeds; God brings the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7).
